Rules for Reporters at Fruitland Park News

Reporters report. They attend meetings, interview principals, research records and archives, take photographs and write. They exercise news judgement. News stories can make a difference in people’s lives. They are interesting. They inform. They provide information that will help Fruitland Park residents, taxpayers and voters make reasoned decisions. Reporters follow general patterns of style—you know, complete sentences, correct spelling, that sort of thing.

Reporters don’t insert personal opinions. They don’t frame questions that accuse or favor any one side over another. The don’t advocate any philosophy, position, perspective or value except these: accuracy, transparency and honesty.
