Women’s History Month Panel Discussion at LSSC Feb. 26

The public is invited to a Women’s History Month event on Wednesday, February 26, at 4:30 P.M. in the Magnolia Room on the campus of Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) in Leesburg.
The national theme for this year’s Women’s History Month is “Celebrating Women of Character, Courage, and Commitment.”  In keeping with that theme, the event will feature a panel of local female business and community leaders who will discuss their careers, hurdles, heroes, and mentors.
Speakers will include:
  • Phyllis Baum  RN, MBA,  Vice President & Chief Quality Officer, Central Florida Health Alliance
  • Rosanne Brandeburg,  Executive Director, LSSC Institutional Advancement/Foundation and member of Lake County School Board
  • Emily Lee,  Bates Avenue Community Facilitator and member of Lake-Sumter State College Board of Trustees
  • Donna Miller,  Lake County Judge
The panel will be moderated by Nancy Hurlbert.  Audience members will have the opportunity for questions and answers. Reservations are not required.  Light refreshments will be provided.
This celebration of women’s history is sponsored by Lake-Sumter American Association of University Women; North Lake Business and Professional Women; Democratic Women’s Club of Lake County; Lake County NOW; Lake-Sumter State College, New directions Program and Equity & Diversity Committee; and Tri-County League of Women Voters.
Directions:  Follow US Hwy 441 south through Leesburg.  Lake-Sumter State College is located on Hwy 441 on the left just past the Leesburg Airport and before the Lake Square Mall.  Enter at the traffic signal onto College Drive.  The Magnolia Room is located in the Everett Kelly Convocation Center (EKCC)/Gymnasium building at the far end of the West Parking lot off of College Drive.
