Fruitland Park, Fla. — A developer is holding meetings with city officials in Fruitland Park to discuss conceptual plans to build an upscale state-licensed Assisted Living Facility on a 17-acre site on Miller Ave. (C.R. 466A) overlooking Fountain Lake in Fruitland Park.

Community Development Director Charlie Rector and interim City Manager Rick Conner held preliminary meetings last week with the developer, his project engineer and architects.

Rector said the developers plan to submit a conceptual site plan in about three weeks.

“They are very interested in moving forward quickly,” Rector told city commissioners recently.

The developers have financing in place already to fund a 72-unit plantation-style facility that could start construction early next year, Rector said.

Preliminary plans include a fine dining restaurant on Miller Ave. that would be open to the public and additional single-family homes on the site.

“The restaurant would also provide meals for the residents,” Rector told commissioners.
